The Model 105 Well Casing and Depth Indicator from Solinst Canada, is useful in determining where metal casing starts and ends in new or existing wells as well as various other applications.
The Model 105 is used to detect metal well casing and measure total well depth. The probe carries out both functions.
The Well Casing and Depth Indicator is useful in determining where metal casing starts and ends in new or existing well constructions; hydrofracturing; and installing packers, pumps or other down-well instrumentation. It’s a handy instrument for every driller and hydrogeologist to add to his or her toolbox, the company said in a press release.
A strong internal magnetic assembly detects well casing. When the probe is adjacent to magnetic metal (for example, steel) a circuit is completed, activating the buzzer and light. A plunger at the bottom of the probe measures total well depth. The light and buzzer activate when the plunger reaches the bottom of a well and is pushed into the probe body.
Depths are read from durable Solinst flat tape, which is accurately laser marked every millimetre or 1/100 foot. Standard tape lengths are available up to 600 metres (2000 ft.). The dual-function 105 Probe is made from 316 stainless steel, is submersible to 500 m (1650 ft.), and can be easily replaced in the field, if required.
The Model 105 Well Casing and Depth Indicator features a rugged design with a three-year warranty. It has a sturdy reel and frame, convenient brake, probe holder, tape guide, battery test button, on/off switch, and easy-to-access battery tray for a standard nine-volt battery.
