Western U.S. states propose water conservation strategy for Colorado River
Deal could see California, Nevada and Arizona receive federal funding

A landmark deal has been proposed in the United States in which California, Arizona and Nevada plan to reduce their water use over the next three years from the Colorado River. The proposal could end a year-long stalemate over the drought-stricken river that has created tensions among western U.S. states.
