When Echo Bay can reopen its water treatment plant is still unknown following oil spill

Sudbury – It’s unknown when the water treatment plant that serves the Village of Echo Bay will reopen following last week’s Algoma Steel oil spill on the St. Marys River. The village gets its drinking water from Lake George – a part of the St. Marys River watershed. Until the treatment plant reopens, local residents have been asked to conserve water and refrain from filling swimming pools, washing cars and watering lawns. CBC News report | READ MORE
