Yellowknife’s drinking water source to temporarily change during new pipeline construction

Water to be pulled from Yellowknife Bay

Yellowknife – A 53-year-old pipeline that supplies city residents with their drinking water is being replaced at a cost of $34.4 million. The new pipeline won’t be in place until 2026 and the city’s drinking water source will continue to be the Yellowknife River, but that will temporarily change starting next year.
