Watson Lake, Yukon Territory – The governments of Canada and Yukon will provide more than $2 million collectively to fund upgrades to the Watson Lake lagoon in the Yukon Territory under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.

The federal government is providing $1,750,500 (up to 75 per cent of funding for this project) and the territorial government is providing over $583,500 for the project, Infrastructure Canada said in a news release.

The investment is inteneded to help residents of Watson Lake gain an improved, modern, and reliable sewage lagoon to enhance the capacity of the town’s wastewater treatment system and thus keep waterways clean, the release said.
