Study shows higher radon level risks exist with rural wells than those in urban areas
University of Calgary study suggests risk is 30 per cent higher

Calgary – A University of Calgary study has found that rural ground wells are showing an increased risk of high radon levels. The radioactive gas forms naturally when uranium, thorium or radium break down in groundwater as well as in soil and rocks. The study has found that those living in rural areas have a 30 per cent higher exposure rate to radon that those in urban areas. CBC report | READ MORE
