At the time of his death, he was working outside
when he fell and succumbed to a massive left-sided brain bleed. His family was
by his side at the time of his passing.

Born July 3, 1931, in Meridian, Miss., Jones began working
at a young age in the veneer factory in Meridian along with his father and younger
brother. He then entered a sales career, becoming the youngest sales manager at
Kinney Shoes in Meridian. He was drafted into the armed forces holding the rank
of Corporal, spending most of his time serving in Germany.

He had a long career in auto sales and with his wife owned
a used car dealership in the late 80s early 90s. In mid-1995, they moved to a
small town, Vernon, and continued their cattle operation for some time.

His sales skills led him to working with his wife and the team
at WorldWide Drilling Resource in Bonifay, Fla., where he became vice-president,
the position he held at the time of his death; he also worked side by side with
his son Troy at Teddy Bear Timber Company in Vernon.

“Our thoughts are with Al’s family and friends in their time
of sorrow. May they find comfort in the memories of Al’s life and
accomplishments,” said the board and staff of the Ontario Ground Water
Association in a statement.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Veronica I. “Ronnie”
Jones of Vernon, Fla., two sons, four daughters, nine grandchildren and one
great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family will gratefully accept
donations sent to his favourite charity for which he worked countless hours to
help handicapped children: Florida Elks Harry Anna Trust Fund, PO Box 47,
Umatilla FL 32784 in Memory of Albert L. Jones, Jr. PER, Gainesville, Florida.
