Federal government injects more than $117M into projects aimed to protect B.C. drinking water
Sunshine Coast Regional District to get water treatment upgrades, new reservoirs

British Columbia – The federal government is pouring more than $117 million into upgrades of the Sunshine Coast Regional District water treatment plant with additional plans to construct two large storage reservoirs in the Chapman Creek watershed. Periods of summer drought have threatened the region’s drinking water with precipitation levels below average in 10 of the past 14 summers.
