Merville, B.C. – The founder of an organization determined to protect a community aquifer wants the British Columbia Supreme Court to become involved in a local zoning decision that allows the communal aquifer’s water to be extracted and sold. The groundwater supplies the community of about 2,300 people with their water needs. The founder of Merville Water Guardians says the allowance of a water extraction licence shouldn’t allow the applicant’s business to be classified as a home occupation business, but rather an industrial business.
