Obituary: John Butt, former DrillWell Supply owner

Barrie, Ont. – The Ontario water well industry is mourning the death of John David Butt, who passed away on June 23 in Barrie.

Mr. Butt was the owner and manager of DrillWell Supply from 1989 to 2011.

“John was a hard-working business owner, a great proponent of the ground water industry, and a supporter of our association. The Ontario Ground Water Association Directors and Staff send our deepest condolences to John’s colleagues, friends, and family,” the OGWA said in an email to members.


He is survived by his wife, Maura McMillen, children Ciara and Claire McMillen and grandson Kieran McMillen.

Visitation will be held at the Innisfil Funeral Home on June 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Barrie on June 28 at 11 a.m.
