Milton group urges Ontario premier to keep 2020 promise about not reopening quarry
Fear is that reopened quarry will compromise area groundwater

Milton, Ont. – A local group of residents are pressing Ontario Premier Doug Ford to keep a promise he made four years ago to not reopen a quarry in Campbellville. Ford acknowledged in 2020 that neither he, the mayor nor the community wanted the quarry. It has been argued that groundwater in the area is apt to be compromised if the quarry is opened. Several other concerns have also been noted, including a decrease in air quality, increased truck traffic and flying rocks. CHCH News report | READ MORE
