April 9, 2012, Westerville, OH – The National Ground Water Association
(NGWA) is holding a one-day forum on June 27 in Columbus, Ohio, entitled
“Hydraulic Fracturing: Scientific and Technical Approaches to Protect
Groundwater."

April 9, 2012, Westerville, OH – The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) is holding a one-day forum on June 27 in Columbus, Ohio, entitled “Hydraulic Fracturing: Scientific and Technical Approaches to Protect Groundwater."

This forum will bring together experts to examine and discuss scientific and technical issues regarding hydraulic fracturing including groundwater protection and the potential for impacts to drinking water supplies. Topics that will be addressed, among others, include:

  • water testing
  • well construction integrity
  • technologies for wastewater management.

The program lineup also includes presentations on baseline geology, hydraulic fracturing studies, and active ground water monitoring. A panel discussion with representatives from three states with concentrated hydraulic fracturing activities will address current and pending regulations.
