Opinion: Much of B.C.’s population unaware of magnitude of threat to province’s water

British Columbia’s water is under threat, and those living in the province are largely unaware of the magnitude of the associated risks, a tandem of guest columnists write in The Globe and Mail. Recent flooding in the province has created a “toxic soup of pollutants” in water, including fuel, raw sewage, animal waste, pesticides, garbage and asbestos fibres. They warn people to stay away from contaminated water until studies show it is safe.
