Scientists develop means to separate salt from seawater to produce purified drinking water

Scientists from the universities of Bath, Swansea and Edinburgh have developed a drinking water purification process that uses small amounts of electrical energy to pull in chloride ions toward a positively charged electrode, pulling water through a membrane, yet leaving sodium on the other side where it is attracted to a negatively charged electrode.
