Cambridge to reduce road salt use as sodium in drinking water exceeds acceptable levels
Liquid de-icer halves the impact

Cambridge, Ont. – Regular water quality reports suggest the city’s drinking water supply has higher salt levels than those recommended by Health Canada. In response, the city is working toward limiting the amount of salt it applies to roads during the winter, opting for a liquid de-icing agent that will have half the impact.
