Siemens searching for sustainability leaders

May 24, 2011, Munich, Germany – Siemens’ Smart Grid Technology Innovation contest is searching for the most sustainable businesses in the world.

Entrants with the top five ideas will be awarded $21,000 and a trip to Berlin, Germany, to meet with Siemen’s Smart Grid experts. The company has also committed to providing more than $1.5 million to help the lucky finalists turn their ideas into reality.

Entries will be posted online; visitors will be able to review all entries and post comments. Proposals may cover any topic or aspect of energy use and management, including creation, distribution, transmission, storage or utilization.

The contest runs through June 15.
