USask researcher says deep groundwater discoveries could have implications for carbon capture, waste storage

Saskatoon – Finding underground storage sites for carbon capture and exploring nuclear energy as a means of reducing carbon emissions might be more difficult than previously thought. Grant Ferguson, a University of Saskatchewan engineering professor, has been studying ancient groundwater in the Paradox Basin in Utah and Colorado and its impact on captured carbon and nuclear waste storage. A challenge, he said, is that scientists probably know more about the surface of the moon than many of the things a few kilometres below ground. MSN.com report | READ MORE
