Advocacy group presses MOE to take action to mitigate road salt pollution of water

Guelph, Ont. – The Ontario Salt Pollution Coalition, an advocacy group concerned about the increasing use of road salt to melt ice on paved surfaces, has chosen World Water Day to send a message to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Park. The group wants “urgent action” taken on salt use, saying it leads to the contamination of drinking water, groundwater, rivers and lakes. CBC News report | READ MORE
