California approves rules that would turn wastewater into drinking water

California – As the state continues to deal with drought, California regulators have approved new rules that will allow water agencies to recycle wastewater so that it returns as drinking water. Colorado is the only other state that has allowed such a process. The regulations will permit water agencies to treat wastewater and put it back as drinking water.
