Jasper in good shape with water supply despite Alberta’s province-wide drought

Jasper, Alta. – The town’s proximity to glacial meltwater within a mountainous environment has its water supply in good shape, but the municipality’s aquifers and well levels are still being carefully monitored as the province continues to deal with significant drought. Alberta is currently at Stage 4 in a water shortage management plan, but Jasper has not been subject to any drought advisories or warnings and has, in fact, realized a reduction in water consumption.
