Manganese issue has Casselman mayor relying on experts and not what’s posted on Facebook

Casselman, Ont. – The municipality’s mayor says she is going to rely on the opinions of experts and not what is posted on Facebook when addressing concerns of manganese content in the local drinking water supply. Mayor Geneviève Lajoie says she doesn’t base her governance on the social media platform, preferring to stick with expert analysis. A group called Casselman Water Quality was created on Facebook by a couple of individuals, raising awareness of the water quality situation and challenging the approach taken by the municipality and the Ontario Clean Water Agency to address it.
