Toronto – Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks has released an updated guide for municipal councillors to help them understand their responsibilities under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 and provide them with information on how Ontario’s drinking water is safeguarded.

Updates to the guide, entitled “Taking Care of Your Drinking Water: A Guide for Members of Municipal Councils,” include information added on the Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure Regulation, Ontario Regulation 588/17.

Municipal officials can also learn more through standard of care training developed and delivered by the Walkerton Clean Water Centre.
