Proposed southern Ontario landfill site raises groundwater concerns by MOE

Dresden, Ont. – A proposal to build a new landfill on a former school site has raised concerns by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment about groundwater quality and methane gas. The York1 proposal suggests silt and contaminants will be filtered out before draining into Molly Creek and that stormwater ponds should be monitored twice yearly.
