Orangeville, Ont. – Officials in Orangeville and Mono are concerned about the ongoing safety of groundwater resources following a proposal to import construction materials to a nearby gravel pit. Amarlinc Earthworks Inc. wishes to dump upward of 800,000 cubic materials of excavated construction materials from the Toronto area to the site for a three to five-year period. The concern is that the pit is located within wellhead protection areas which supplies some of Orangeville’s municipal water. It is also in close proximity to Mono’s Cardinal Woods Drinking Water Source Water Protection Zone. Orangeville Citizen report | READ MORE
