Barrie’s plan to aid Water First initiative still in discussion stage with First Nations groups

Barrie, Ont. – A homegrown proposal to help First Nations communities improve their water services won’t be part of Barrie’s budget discussions next week. Barrie Deputy Mayor Barry Ward had proposed the city dedicate 0.2 per cent of its water and sewer revenue next year toward the Creemore-led Water First initiative, but consultations with the First Nations groups are still ongoing.
