Bids to build new water treatment plant in Collingwood, Ont. doubles initial estimates

Collingwood, Ont. – The cost to construct the town’s new water treatment plant has doubled from what was originally estimated, based on bids received. Initially pegged at $121 million, the lowest bid submitted was $212 million and construction is also expected to take two years longer than anticipated.
