July 18, 2023 By Ground Water Canada
Newfoundland & Labrador – An Atlantic Canadian scientist researching biobeds for Living Lab (Atlantic) has developed a bio filter that removes pesticide residue from contaminated water such as water that comes from rinsing tractors and rinsing sprayers. Science co-ordinator Scott Anderson has built a biobed at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Harrington Research Farm on Prince Edward Island. More than 90 per cent of pesticides are removed that would otherwise enter into the environment.
