Iqaluit to shut down its water system Friday to allow for necessary upgrades

Iqaluit, Nunavut – A day-long shutdown of the city’s water system is scheduled for Friday to allow necessary upgrades to its infrastructure.

A boil-water advisory will be in effect for the duration of the shutdown.

The territory’s chief public health officer will be responsible for the lifting of the advisory.

The advisory is deemed necessary due to a drop in water pressure.

Iqaluit has made national news in recent years for a series of water-related setbacks.
