Fuel smell in Iqaluit’s water likely caused by breach in city’s water system
Contamination levels below Health Canada limits

Iqaluit, Nunavut – A breach in the city’s water system is presumed to be the reason for the recent fuel smell that has forced the temporary shutdown of Iqaluit’s water treatment plant. A bypass system is being used to pump water to residents while a boil-water advisory has been put into effect.
