Low Vancouver Island snowpack has area bracing for another spring and summer of drought
Snowpack is only 30 per cent of normal for this time of year

Nanaimo, B.C. – Vancouver Island is bracing for another spring and summer of drought conditions. The B.C. River Forecast Centre states the island has just 30 per cent of its normal snowpack for this time of year. The average elsewhere in the province is about 61 per cent. Nine water systems in the Regional District of Nanaimo rely on groundwater for their potable supply which is recharged by snow melt. Nanaimo News Now report | READ MORE
