Situation not dire, but groundwater supply in mid-Vancouver Island negatively impacted by drought

Nanaimo, B.C. – The groundwater supply in mid-Vancouver Island isn’t flush, and the situation isn’t yet dire, the area’s drought-like conditions are perhaps providing context for summers ahead. Several mid-island communities rely on groundwater for their water supply. Of 19 aquifers that have been monitored between April and June, seven have performed below average.
