N.S. community begins pilot project to test desalination of seawater for drinking water

Nova Scotia – Threats to the Municipality of Barrington’s water supply – triggered by ongoing climate change – has prompted the launch of a pilot project that could see some of the community’s future drinking water come from the sea. A Quebec-based company is partnering with the municipality to test a sustainable approach toward desalination of ocean water as a means of preparing for an uncertain future.
