Report recommends new groundwater production wells be added at Alberta town

Edson, Alta. – Groundwater production wells should be added across the Edson Channel and Paskapoo Formation Aquifer System to ensure residents and businesses continue to access potable water, a report to council advises.

Advisian (Worley Canada) was retained to file a technical analysis of the aquifers and present a final report to council.

The study notes that groundwater availability is not a concern, but still recommends the addition of groundwater production wells.

It’s also recommended that groundwater production be investigated at a greater depth.
