Suncor oilsands release is a matter of surface water contamination
Suspended solids release more than twice that set by Alberta Energy Regulator

Fort Hills, Alta. – Suncor has reported that almost six million litres of water containing suspended solids were released from a settlement pond into a creek that drains in the Athabaska River. The level of suspended solids was more than twice the limit set by the Alberta Energy Regulator. Unlike the recent Imperial Oil incident, in which tailings contaminated groundwater, the Suncor matter was an issue of surface water contamination. Cabin Radio report | READ MORE
