Boil-water advisory lifted in Merritt, B.C. in post-flood return to home for many residents
December 9, 2021 By Ground Water Canada
Merritt, B.C. – The city’s boil-water advisory has been lifted following Interior Health’s determination that drinking water in the community meets sufficient quality guidelines.
Most of the city’s residents have been allowed to return to their homes following a mass evacuation in the wake of last month’s flood of the Coldwater River.
Public Works has advised residents returning home to remove aerators from taps, to change water filters under sinks or in refrigerators, and to run the cold water tap for two minutes to flush out lines before consuming water.
