Cochrane getting answers about water line breach, but many unknowns still remain

Cochrane, Alta. – Reasons for last month’s sewage and water line breach, which resulted in raw sewage being discharged into the Bow River, are becoming more clear. Council has since been provided with some answers, but several unknowns still exist. The incident led to a state of emergency declaration and made national and international news. The municipality’s sanitary sewage pipe and the water pipe were broken during work on the Syphon Twinning Project which was meant to improve the capacity of the sewer infrastructure.
