Investigation wanted into feared groundwater compromising silica mine project

Winnipeg – A silica mine and processing plant proposed for the Regional Municipality of Springfield has been opposed by nearby residents who fear it will threaten the quality of local groundwater. A pair of Springfield elected officials are now pressing the NDP government to investigate the alleged plan by Conservatives to push the project through just prior to the swearing in of the new government.
