Ongoing drought in British Columbia leads village to declare state of emergency
Watering bans imposed to ensure there is adequate drinking water available

McBride, B.C. – A state of emergency has been declared in this central British Columbia village as drought in the province has increased in severity. A ban is now in effect on watering lawns and gardens, filling swimming pools and washing cars. The move has been made to ensure there is adequate drinking water for the village of about 600 people.
