Ontario First Nations community celebrates two years of having access to clean drinking water

Canada still has 26 other First Nations communities without access

Port Perry, Ont. – The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, north of here, are marking two years of having access to clean and safe drinking water. The community was able to drink clean water in 2021 after enduring four 13-year-old drinking water advisories. While the Mississaugas of Scugog Island are celebrating, there are still 26 other Canadian First Nations communities that continue to observe drinking water advisories.
