Solinst enhances its LevelSender 5 telemetry system

October 20, 2021  By Ground Water Canada

Solinst Canada Ltd. has released updated versions of LevelSender 5 telemetry software and firmware, which allow new and existing customers to take advantage of enhanced features such as an internal barometer.

The LevelSender 5 provides a  simple and inexpensive means to collect water level data from remote Solinst dataloggers.

The system uses wireless cellular communication to send water data from the field, to your email, as a text message, and to a dynamic database on your home station computer. You have complete control of your data; you can receive it in whatever way works best for you – including the latest option of sending it to your own FTP server.

Another major enhancement provided by this latest update includes the activation of the internal barometer (all systems built after November 2020). This allows automatically compensated water level data to be reported, eliminating the need for further data post-processing.

An additional update is the introduction of alarm settings for the connected Solinst dataloggers. You can set to receive an email and/or text message if a high or low-level alarm condition is met. Also, an alarm message will automatically be sent if your battery level in the LevelSender is getting low.

In another recent update, Solinst introduced the option of a Solinst SIM card. The LevelSender 5 is set up in advance, simplifying the programming and installation process. The Solinst SIM Card gives you access to wider network coverage, as it scans multiple service providers automatically selecting the strongest signal for your location.

Telemetry saves you time and money by reducing the number of trips to the field. The LevelSender 5 saves you additional time with two-way communication and the ability to remotely control and update a LevelSender from the home station computer.
