U of T researchers find alarming amounts of microplastics in Lake Ontario’s waters

Toronto – Lake Ontario is under siege by microplastics, University of Toronto researchers say. Although they are finding such larger items as beverage containers, bottle caps and food wrappers, it is the amount of microplastics being found that is most concerning. They are discovering more than 10,000 microplastic pieces daily from 10 collection bins that are smaller in diameter than a basketball net. CTV News report | READ MORE
