Vast amount of groundwater moved around has affected earth’s spin: scientists

A new study published in Geophysical Research Letters suggests the earth has tilted about 80 centimetres between 1993 and 2010 due to the vast amount of groundwater that has been pumped. Scientists say the earth spins differently when water is moved about. Until now, groundwater’s contribution to the altered spin was not studied. Phys.org News report | READ MORE
