Rankin Inlet, Nunavut – The cost of replacing the hamlet’s water treatment plant is estimated at nearly $100 million, local council was told last week, but growth in the community is largely dependent upon a properly functioning water and sewage system. Coun. Justin Merritt said Rankin Inlet’s mayor needs to maintain pressure on the Nunavut government to come through, adding it’s the community’s No. 1 issue. The hamlet’s utilidor system is said to be already at near capacity. NNSL Media report | READ MORE
