Indigenous services minister to table bill aimed at protecting First Nations fresh water
Bill's timing comes a year after Safe Drinking Water for First Nations Act was repealed

Ottawa – Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu wishes to table legislation aimed at protecting fresh water within First Nations communities. The timing of the bill will come a year after the 2013 Safe Drinking Water for First Nations Act was repealed in June 2022. First Nations said that bill was ineffective and raised concerns about a lack of sustainable funding and an infringement of constitutional rights. CTV News report | READ MORE
