Louisiana – The health of many state residents could be in jeopardy over the next several months as high salt levels continue to be present in drinking water. The situation is due to saltwater intrusion which occurs when a weak downstream flow of the Mississippi River fails to push back saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico.
