Osoyoos, B.C. explores cheaper alternative to building new groundwater treatment plant

Plant that treats Lake Osoyoos water about $10 million cheaper

Osoyoos, B.C. – Town council has been taking a hard look at where it’s to be drawing its water moving forward. Construction of a new groundwater treatment plant has been estimated at $61.5 million while a plant that treats water drawn from Osoyoos Lake is nearly $10 million cheaper. Local residents have been accustomed to getting their water from an aging well network that has experienced a series of failures, including the need to boil water in February.
