Scientists find boiling and filtering water helps to remove up to 90 per cent of microplastics

While many Canadian communities have been inconvenienced with having to boil their water before consumption, there may be a redeeming factor involved with the practice, researchers say. According to a recent published study in Environmental Science & Technology Letters, researchers say that boiling and filtering water helps to remove up to 90 per cent of microplastics in water. The particles have been found in 129 of 159 tap water samples taken from 14 countries from around the world. Washington Post report | READ MORE
