United Nations promotes ‘Water for Peace’ ahead of World Water Day on March 22
Only 24 countries have water-sharing agreements

The United Nations is focusing on Water for Peace on World Water Day, March 22. The UN implies that tensions between communities and countries can escalate when water is scarce or polluted. Although more than three billion people depend on water crossing over international borders, only 24 countries in the world have water-sharing agreements. The need for water protection is greater now more than ever as the impact of climate change continues to increase.
