Boucherville, Que.’s water deemed fit for consumption after five-day advisory

Boucherville, Que. – The boil-advisory affecting the Montreal suburb has finally ended.

Test results presented to the municipality on Sunday were clear of E. coli contamination which had initially prompted the advisory. Two rounds of testing, however, were required before the advisory could be lifted.

The water has now been deemed fit for consumption.

However, are suggesting residents continue to take precautions such as:

• Allowing cold water to run for a few minutes before using;
• Emptying, washing and disinfecting coffee machines and ice machines;
• Changing water filters in such items as pitchers, tap filters, etc.
