Iqaluit awards $800,000 contract to company to clean up contaminated water tanks

Iqaluit, Nunavut – The task of cleaning three contaminated underground water tanks at the city’s water treatment plant has been awarded to Tower Arctic Ltd. at a cost of $800,000. The tanks were contaminated by fuel, leading to a water crisis in the community that spanned the fall and winter months.
